Figure Tutorial- Proportions

Part one of a series of tutorials about figure construction. Hopefully this will lead into the muscular anatomy tutorial that everyone has been drooling over. Patience, folks... I know this stuff may seem really boring right now, but I can't emphasize how important it really is when it comes to drawing the figure.

There is still some debate about how many heads tall one should make the average adult figure. I've heard anywhere between seven and eight heads tall. Eight heads is what the ancient Greeks used for their statues, though, so those proportions are very much idealized.
