KaPow - Ink by GH-MoNGo KaPow - Ink by GH-MoNGo
First time inking after the surgery. I've realized that I'm still not entirely comfortable inking with a brush. This one took me way too long to finish, and it still had a boatload of mistakes.

.5 hours pencils + 3 hours ink = 3.5 hours total

I like it. I can see a real improvement with your inking, the hard work is definitely paying off. Dammit! I'm going through my devwatch for the first time in at least a fortnight and everyone is inspiring me so much. :D

I loved this in its pencilled stage, and I love it even more now. Sforzando is *such* a great character - the look on his face here is wonderful. And mistakes? Where? This looks great!

Wow that took 3 hours to ink? What took so long? Just getting everything perfect?

But nice work. Looks like it was ripped from the pages of a comic book. ^^

Those are the most kickass knuckles I've seen in months. I'm sure whoever he's punching, he's admiring these bony beauts, too...before he gets his shit ruined, of course.

You have good control over your line weight. Seriously, the picture looks so sharp and clean, that's not something I'm getting right now.

that's not something I'm getting right now.

I realized sometimes less is more when it comes to lineart. A lot of times detail can interfere with clarity.

(OMG I can't believe I'm actually giving advice to you! :O_o:)

There's nothing wrong with you giving me advice. =) We're artists right?! We should not be afraid to critique work...(I say we 'cause I'm hesitant to give critiques here on DA, I don't want to insult anybody). I tell you though I wouldn't mind getting a bit more in-depth comments on my work, I need it.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind.

As for who I give critiques to and who I don't, usually I won't give a critique to anyone unless I know them. Just to be on the safe side.

That's good advice. Some people have a hard time with critique-type comments. Some get quite upset...but in my opinion you need to see the work from other's viewpoint to grow.

No, I've always been doing stuff like this. It's just my (relatively recent) dwarf pre-occupation has kinda overshadowed my more cartoon-ey stuff.

well, you'd needa tell me what colors Sforzie is.

wonder how i'd do his whiskers...

and this'll be a great reason to finally try out doll sculpture! i've had trouble trying to mold faces and bodies, they all turn out kinda ugly.

but Sforzie would be very not ugly. he'd be adorable.

and squishy. ^__^

Floating onomatopoeia? Yeah, people tell me I have a knack for lettering.

PtMH is really wacky and over-the-top, so I thought somethign like that would really help set the mood.
