An Illustration class assignment: produce an illustration to accompany the lyrics to a song of your choosing. The song I chose was "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance. the professor told the class to pick a song that would inspire them, and at first she said my choice of song was "uninspired". I'm not really sure how she's going to like this one considering it contains no allegories to love, references to nature, or visual metaphors.

Watercolour on Crescent 310 Cold Press Illustration Board. Original appx. 8" x 10".

It's like "Where the Wild Things Are" but evil!

Looks great!

Hmm... that actually sounds like a good exercise to do. I'll try it out myself.

Your colors add a whole lot to this piece. I like the way the heads seem to be forming because of what the guy is reading. The only thing that I would have liked to see in this is darker shadows, down low, behind the heads of the "monsters"; because the light shining on them would cause them. As it is, there appears to be a very faint light source behind the creatures. No big deal though.
