Happenings - November 2010

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 2, 2010, 11:31 PM

:pointr: The Dallas Cowboys are 1-6.

Did you hear that $y2jenn? Your team is 1-6.

:pointr: 3D modeling makes my brain hurt. "Whoops, I accidentally double-extruded a face, now my model looks like it went through a nuclear fallout." Sometimes I wish I could just go back to painting big hairy monsters with tusks. Oh wait...

:pointr: Myrmidon Sledgefist's real name is Wilard Barleybrow. Of course, "Myrmidon Sledgefist" sounds more badass, which is why he goes by that name. Just pointing that out for those of you who would be interested in that sort of thing.

:pointr: Am I the only person who does not like doing self-portraits? The one I posted here was a self-portrait assignment for a painting class I took last spring. The figure drawing class I am taking this term has me doing four of them (two full-figure life-sized ones). It's a constant reminder of my borderline man-orexia.

:pointr: Don't buy Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2. Rent it, don't buy it. And if you liked the first two Fable games, you might be disappointed with Fable 3. They changed the formula of the game and it goes away from what made the first two enjoyable for me personally.

Um, that's about it.
I'm still addicted to barbecue. I might need an intervention.

Stay classy, folks.

Self-portraits are a handy tool. Your own face is always the most readily available to you, and self-portraits are a good way of measuring how skilled you are as an artist. It's also a good way of training.

I dont know how many people find self-portraits fun. They're for the most part just very confronting, at least in my opinion.

I guess that is one of the benefits of being poor. Never had enough money to get video games much anymore, and I would have bought TF II if I did.

And no, you are not the only person who hates doing self portraits, I always draw my nose ridiculously long or just a fraction too short. :\ Can also relate to the man-orexia... don't tell anyone. :paranoid:

my brain hurts from math!!!

and I didnt know that about Myrmidon. could I still buy him some mead?
HA HA about the cowboys, and uh No I dont like self portraits much either, but I still draw hands randomly. I am working on creepy hands and stippling right now. I got an eco friendly thing like my little moleskin and did I mention my brain hurts from math? I think I killed it in Math. I have one more shot after this and if I cant do it then what was the point of college to begin with?

I'll remember those video game tips well, and he (Sledgefist) has a different real name? I like characters with diverse history.
